Letter to the Principal
Dear Principal,Being responsible for the lives of hundreds of young people who populate your school is not an enviable job. We know you are often approached by those who desire an assembly of one kind or another with your students, many of which are good an d reputable pro- grams.
But we want to introduce you to a unique assembly program that has demonstrated is success throughout the United Stat es and several foreign countries. W e have seen the spark of enthusiasm and determination ignited in thousands of students when they realize that attitude, not aptitude can be the key ingredient to a productive and fulfilled life.
What our assembly will do is make your young people stop for a moment and elevate the direction of their lives. We’ll he lp them come to grips with those lif e changing decisions that are ever before them an d we’ll encourage them to seek adv ice from parents, teachers, and counselors to make th e right choices.
The IT’S ALL IN YOUR ATTITUDE assembly is having dramatic results all across America. As we are now planning a tour to your community, we would greatly appreciate you making room for our program. Your students need the positive, powerful impact of
IT’S ALL IN YOUR ATTITUDE!
We look forward to coming to you r area, and we sincerely hope we will have the opportunity to meet you and speak to your student body.
Sincerely,
Rick and Mick
Facts
The ATTITUDE CHECK assembly goes beyond the borders of the typical anti drug, anti suicide assembly and deals with these and other important issues from a positive, refreshing outlook, not a negative or depressing one. Rick and Mick believe substance abuse, suicide and other problems young people are facing are usually symptoms of a poor self image. By motivating young people to take a “check-up from the neck-up” and eliminating what Zig Ziglar calls “stinkin’ thinkin’” and “hardening of the attitudes”, Rick and Mick, as well as thousands of educators and counsel- ors, have seen dramatic results in student bodies across the country.Effective
As a school administrator, you are well aware that one must be able to identify with youth if they are to be reached effectively. Rick and Mick’s philosophy is “If you can get young people to laugh, you can get them to listen.” Through their comic routines and contemporary music, they have gained an attentive audience in some of the most difficult school settings where school assemblies are not usually allowed. As Rick and Mick begin discussing personal experiences and issues including depression, anger, substance abuse, suicide, academic and peer pressure, loneliness and self confidence, they invoke audience participation.
One administrator from Wisconsin made this observations,
“I found their presentation to be not only comic, but informative, entertaining and relevant. Students readily responded to their dramatics and audience participation.”
There is another factor, however, that has caused students all over the country to respond so positively to ATTITUDE CHECK...
Genuine
Rick and Mick have often said, “Teens don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care’. Young people are turned off by insincerity. They can spot an phony a mile away, but they also sense honesty and true compassion. Perhaps this is why Rick and Mick will have your students laughing one minute an crying the next; one minute they’ll be clapping and cheering, they next you could hear a pin drop.
Rick and Mick don’t claim to have all the answers to the complex problems facing today’s youth, but they care. Young people sense this and they respond when Rick and Mick encourage them to go to the source of authorities who do have the answers.
Because of these kinds of results counselors for the Denver Public Schools said,
“Rick and Mick’s positive attitude assembly is a must for every school possible!”
